Description

First appearing in the 1930s, the Buick Century nameplate was created to commemorate the brand's first model capable of driving 100 miles per hour. After a two-decade hiatus, Buick revived the name in 1954 for their new performance offering. For 1954, Century buyers had their choice of a sedan, a “Riviera” hardtop coupe, a convertible, or a four-door station wagon. All body styles featured Buick's signature plunging chrome side spear. Each Century body styles also had stunning interiors, though the convertibles were especially luxurious with leather upholstery, and power windows and seats. The 1954 Century was a “three-hole” Buick, meaning that it had three “Ventiport” holes in the front fenders. This exquisite example, finished in stunning black over red leather upholstery has been fully restored and drives well. Kept in museum conditions since purchased by its current owner in 1989, this Century convertible is a collector-quality driver that shows beautifully.
